    weird indeed. i have never seen this insect here in kanto or kansai when we lived there. i wonder if it’s only in your area of japan?

    I checked and it seems that people have found this leafhopper most places in Japan. However, they do look like bits of dead leaf/bark, so it’s easy to miss them. This was the first time I’d found one. I hope you manage to find one soon!
