Black and Red Leaf Beetle

There were several of these black-spotted leaf beetles (kuroboshi tsutsuhamushi) at the side of the path. The males (first photo) were much smaller than the females (other photos).

    I like nothing better than wandering around the countryside taking photos of bugs. Now that the weather is warming up and the bugs are coming out… I don’t want to spend any time indoors!
